UVSA EC Awards

To celebrate the accomplishments of the VSAs throughout the year, our UVSA EC Awards is an opportunity to recognize outstanding VSAs and supporters within the Vietnamese student community in Eastern Canada during the VITA Summit Gala. This gala is an opportunity for us to thank all our sponsors and invite our Platinum Sponsors to share our region’s successes with us.

Attendees include region-wide VSAs, UVSA EC alumni, Vietnamese community members, as well as sponsors and supporters of Vietnamese culture. The event consists of a dinner, award ceremony, and performances from members of our community.

The UVSA EC Awards is an essential component to our VITA Summit Gala to highlight the successful initiatives and milestones of each organisation and the members who contributed to our region’s success at the end of the academic year.

Categories for Nominations

Most Involved in Community Initiatives

This VSA has demonstrated their strong presence within the community through either event collaborations with various philanthropic, cultural, or academic organizations on campus or by giving back to the community by volunteering with organizations, fundraising money, attending events, and forming connections with Vietnamese community members. They demonstrate leadership skills and compassion through their involvement with campus clubs or within their local community.

Most Cultural VSA

This VSA has demonstrated passion for the Vietnamese culture in a variety of ways. They organized interactive and creative performances, events, promotional material, etc., to enhance and raise awareness of the Vietnamese heritage. They celebrated Vietnamese culture using music, language, food, traditional dress, holidays, etc.

VSA of the Year

This is awarded to a VSA that has organized successful events throughout the year, attended UVSA events, performed at Gala, and contributed back to their community.

VSA Member of the Year

This individual has showcased outstanding commitment and dedication to their VSA. He/she has consistently demonstrated high leadership qualities within their VSA and showcased success towards their VSA goal.

The nomination application form will open April 1, 2020 and the deadline to nominate an individual/VSA is on April 21st, 2020 11:59 PM EDT!
